Mighty Bread Expands to Rittenhouse

Rittenhouse is about to welcome a new neighbor with a serious cult following. Mighty Bread, the South Philly bakery known for its naturally leavened sourdoughs, inventive pastries, and hearty café fare, is opening a second location at 17th and Pine. The new shop takes over the former J’aime Bakery space and is slated to open in early November.

The Rittenhouse outpost will focus on “grab-and-go” convenience without sacrificing the quality that has made Mighty Bread a favorite. Expect shelves lined with fresh loaves, a full coffee bar, and a daily rotation of croissants, cookies, quiche, and other pastries. For lunch, they’ll serve a selection of sandwiches made with their signature breads, perfect for a quick bite on the Square or a picnic in the park.

Mighty Bread’s expansion marks a welcome addition to the neighborhood’s food scene, blending artisan baking with everyday accessibility. It’s the kind of spot where you can grab your morning coffee and croissant, pick up a loaf of sourdough for dinner, or swing by for a sandwich between showings.

Keep an eye on that corner at 17th and Pine—once the doors open, it’s sure to become a daily stop for many Rittenhouse residents.
